Barcelona Apartment is a division of the Derby Hotels Collection group, a company was stablished in 1968 with the opening of the 4-star Hotel Derby in Barcelona and is now one of Spain’s most prestigious hotel chains. Jordi Clos is the president and founder of Derby Hotels Collection, a Catalan businessman closely linked to Barcelona’s tourism sector, who leads the company together with his family.

In addition to being a hotelier, Jordi Clos is an Egyptologist, collector and art patron. He chairs the Fundación Arqueológica Clos, owner of the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona, which holds the largest private collection of Egyptian art in Europe open to the public and has funded archaeological excavations in Egypt for more than twenty years.

Derby Hotels Collection owns and manages a total of 22 buildings located in major European capitals such as Barcelona, Madrid and London, and includes a wide range of tourist apartments under the Barcelona Apartment name. It currently has more than 1,200 rooms and a staff of 900 employees.
